Easter games are a must, but Easter games that don’t require hundreds of Easter eggs lying all over your living room floor are even better. That’s right… Easter egg games!

So, your kids had a blast at the Easter egg hunt. They had enough candy and Easter treats to feed the army.

Now you have a truckload of empty Easter eggs and a group of rowdy kids driving you crazy, and you have no idea what to do to calm the chaos.

Well, no worries mama… I’ve got you.

Next, we will go over seven simple and fun Easter games you can play on Easter Day or the day after.

They require the very same eggs they collected at the Easter egg hunt and a few other basic materials.

7 EASTER EGG GAMES

Before we start, here are a few things to note:

1. It is more fun when all seven games are played with more than one child. However, all seven games can be played individually as well. It would be best to use a timer on the games based on competition (games 1-3).
2. Some games require a few extra materials, but I promise you it won’t be anything that you don’t already have lying around the house.
3. All seven games are also super fun to play amongst adults.
4. If you want to take it a step further, you can give the winner of each game a small prize.
5. And yes… all the game names are original to this article (so don’t mind the cheesiness… lol)

EASTER EGG GAME #1: Egg on a spoon race

This Easter game is super fun! Not just for kids but for the whole family. Want a great laugh? Enlist grandma and grandpa to be part of the kid’s teams. Priceless!

Material:

• Easter eggs
• Plastic spoons

The original games, which are usually played amongst adults, are played with real eggs. But we will stick to plastic Easter eggs for this article and your sanity.

Game Instructions:

• Assemble two teams of one child or more.
• Place them side by side and give each team member a plastic Easter egg and a spoon.
• Instruct the first child of each team to put their egg on the spoon and wait for your signal.
• At your “go,” they will race to a designated area and back without dropping the egg.
• If the egg falls, they must return to the beginning and start over.
• When the first player returns to the start, it will be the next player’s turn to do the same.
• Whichever team completes their turns successfully first wins.

Notes: To add different degrees of difficulty, you can make the players spin around a few times before they set out on their race. You can also hold the spoon with your mouth instead of your hands.

EASTER EGG GAME #2: Egg pile color challenge

This one is one of my kids’ favorite Easter egg games. It will probably be one of yours since it is easy to assemble.

Materials:

• Easter eggs

Game Instructions:

• Before you start, ensure you have the same number of colored eggs per child (for instance, ten blue eggs for player 1, ten green eggs for player 2, and ten yellow eggs for player 3).
• Place all the eggs in a big pile in an open area. Then, mix all the colors thoroughly.
• Place all the kids at about 30 steps from the egg pile.
• At your “go,” they must run to the middle, grab their colored eggs ( 2 eggs at a time), and bring them back to their starting line.
• Whoever manages to collect all their colored eggs first wins.

Notes: If you are playing this game with older kids or adults, you can add one more thing to make it interesting. Players can return other people’s eggs to the starting point. The person whose eggs were stolen must collect all their eggs back before they can win.

EASTER EGG GAME #3: Humpty Dumpty Challenge

Like Humpty Dumpty, most Easter eggs will suffer the same fate.

So, it will be up to your kiddos to put the eggs back together again.

It’s another super simple game that the kids love!

Materials:

• Easter eggs

Game Instructions:

• Like the previous game, ensure you have the same amount of colored eggs per child (for instance, ten blue eggs for player one, ten green eggs for player 2, and ten yellow eggs for player 3).
• Open the eggs in half and place all the eggs in a big pile. Then, mix all the colors thoroughly.
• At your “go,” all kids must assemble their colored eggs accordingly.
• Whoever puts all their eggs together again first wins!

EASTER EGG GAME #4: make it rain

Oh, this game is so much fun. But you might want to take this one outside.

This game works best for two kids at a time.

Materials:

• Easter eggs
• Paper confetti (you can make it yourself with construction paper and scissors)
• Egg carton

Game Instructions:

• Select a dozen eggs and put them in an egg carton.
• Out of those 12, place paper confetti in 5 of those eggs.
• Mix them well.
• Each child will take turns picking an egg from the cartoon. Then, they will crack it open on the other child’s head.
• If the egg is empty, no one scores. However, if the paper confetti comes raining down, the one who cracked the egg gets the point. In other words, avoid getting rained on.

EASTER EGG GAME #5: Easter Egg basketball

Easter egg basketball is exactly what it sounds like. It is a very simple and fun game.

Materials

• Easter Eggs
• Anything that looks like a basket (a bucket, a basket, a box, etc.)

Game Instructions:

• Give each child a specific amount of Easter eggs (10-20 is a good amount).
• Put the basket at a considerable distance from the kids (about 6ft, depending on the kid’s age).
• Then they will then take turns shooting their eggs to the basket consecutively.
• The child who makes the most eggs in the basket wins.

EASTER EGG GAME #6: shuffle up

This game is more like a mini magic trick and requires your participation. Older children can also help.

Materials:

• Three large Easter egg halves

Game Instructions:

• Place three egg halves facing down.
• As the kids watch, You will place a small object under one of the eggs.
• Then, you will shuffle all eggs as fast as you can.
• Each child will take turns guessing where the object is placed.
• Whichever child gets the most guesses correctly wins.

EASTER EGG GAME #7: do-over

Last but not least is the all-famous Easter Egg Hunt do-over.

I don’t know about your kids, but my kids LOVE to do egg hunts.

Yes… all year round. They don’t even care that the eggs are empty, it is simply the thrill of finding the eggs that makes them happy.

So, when it all fails, gather all the empty eggs, tell them to look away (or to wait in another room of the house) and hide all the eggs once again.

You can do it indoors or outdoors, but the point is that they set out on another Easter Egg Hunt quest.

Whoever collects the most eggs wins.

Easter is one of our favorite holidays.

The resurrection of Jesus, the Easter breakfast, Church, family and friends, yummy treats and the all awaited Easter Egg Hunt.

But the truth is, that once the egg hunt is over, and chaos unfold, keeping them entertained and occupied becomes priority.
